## ๐ŸŒ Pentu.org Is Evolving into an International Community

Pentu.org has undergone significant improvements as we continue building a more open and international online community.

These updates aim to make it easier than ever to participate in discussions, discover new communities, and showcase independent projects.

Alongside these changes, we have improved the website's design, usability, language support, and several underlying systems.

## ๐Ÿ  Complete Homepage Redesign

The Pentu.org homepage has been completely redesigned to reflect the platform's new community-focused direction.

The homepage now highlights the latest forum discussions alongside featured communities and projects. Visitors can explore recent activity and discover interesting content directly from the homepage without unnecessary navigation.

The new layout also makes it easier to find discussions, become part of the community, and submit your own project for consideration.

The overall design has been modernized and optimized for different screen sizes.

## ๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion Forum Overhaul

The Pentu.org discussion forum has received a major overhaul, both visually and functionally.

The redesigned forum introduces a cleaner discussion feed, improved category navigation, and dedicated views for the latest, most popular, and unanswered discussions.

Forum discussions can now be read without signing in. Creating new topics and posting replies still require a Pentu.org account.

Following discussions, browsing threads, and using moderation tools have also been improved to provide a smoother overall experience.

## ๐Ÿงญ Community Directory โ€“ Discover Communities and Projects

The Community Directory has been redesigned to make it easier to discover online communities, websites, and independent projects.

The updated directory features clearer listing cards, organized categories, and improved search and filtering options to help visitors find relevant content.

Signed-in users can now also submit their own communities or projects for consideration, completely free of charge.

All submissions are reviewed by the administration team before publication. Users can also track the status of their submitted projects and communities.

## ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Finnish and English Language Support

A new bilingual interface system has been introduced across Pentu.org.

The website can now be used in Finnish or English, with a dedicated language selector allowing visitors to switch between them.

On the first visit, the preferred language is determined by the visitor's browser settings. Once a language has been manually selected, the preference is remembered for future visits.

Language support has been implemented across the homepage, discussion forum, navigation, Community Directory, and other areas of the website.

Common interface elements, buttons, counters, and footer content have also been standardized for both languages.

We will continue expanding and refining translation coverage to provide a consistent experience throughout the platform, regardless of the selected language.

## ๐Ÿ“ข Bilingual Release Notes

The Pentu.org release note publishing system has been expanded.

Updates can now be published in separate Finnish and English versions. Both language versions belong to the same release, and visitors are shown the content corresponding to their selected language.

## ๐Ÿ›’ Further Store and Discount Improvements

The previously redesigned store and billing systems have received additional improvements.

Discount codes and personalized customer benefits have been introduced, including validity periods, eligibility requirements, and usage restrictions.

Discounts are taken into account when calculating order totals, and their details can be preserved as part of the order history.

Discount handling for recurring services has also been refined to ensure consistent billing throughout subsequent billing periods.

## ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Community and Content Management

New administration tools have been introduced to manage community and project submissions.

Submission limits have been implemented to help prevent misuse, while the publication and review process has been integrated into the existing administration system.

## ๐ŸŽจ Visual and Navigation Improvements

Several areas of the website have been refined to provide a more consistent and polished user experience.

Particular attention has been given to the navigation bar, language selector placement, user menus, and discussion forum layouts.

Layout issues caused by long usernames and different screen sizes have also been addressed.

The shared website footer has been improved as well, including better consistency and language support across the platform.

## ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Stability, Security, and Backend Improvements

This update also includes numerous improvements to platform stability, access control, and data handling.

Particular attention has been given to form security, validation of user-submitted content, administrative permissions, and preserving existing data during system updates.

Additional fixes have also been made to the language system and administration panel based on issues identified during development and testing.

# Pentu.org 2.3.0 โ€“ Billing and Order Management Overhaul

## ๐Ÿ’ณ Billing and Payment Processing

The Pentu.org billing system has received a major overhaul.

Orders can now have clear, detailed invoices showing customer and order information, purchased products, prices, due dates, and the information needed to make a payment.

Invoices are tracked throughout their lifecycle, allowing the system to distinguish between outstanding invoices, payments awaiting confirmation, paid invoices, overdue invoices, and cancelled invoices.

Customers can also report that they have completed a payment. The payment can then be reviewed before the invoice is marked as paid.

## ๐Ÿ“„ My Invoices and Invoice Archive

A dedicated invoice section has been introduced for signed-in customers, providing access to current and previous invoices.

Invoices remain available even after an order is completed, without depending on an individual support ticket or another specific page.

Invoices are also available in a clear PDF format.

## ๐Ÿ” Recurring Billing

A dedicated recurring billing system has been introduced for ongoing services.

Depending on the service, customers can select a billing interval of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. One-time products remain single-payment purchases.

The system tracks upcoming billing dates and can automatically generate the next invoice based on an active order.

## โฐ Due Dates and Payment Reminders

Invoice due-date handling has been improved.

Customers can receive reminders before a payment is due and, when necessary, after an invoice becomes overdue. These messages have been made clearer so customers can more easily understand the invoice status and any next steps.

## ๐Ÿท๏ธ Discount Handling

Product discounts are now handled more consistently throughout the ordering and billing process.

Invoices can show the original price, the discount applied, and the final amount payable, giving customers a transparent breakdown of their total.

The billing terms for recurring orders also remain consistent when subsequent invoices are generated.

## ๐Ÿ›’ Order Management

Checkout, order confirmations, and background order processing have been further improved.

More billing-related details are preserved when an order is placed, helping ensure that later changes to products do not create inconsistencies in existing orders or invoices.

Order management and invoice processing have also been made more consistent with one another.

## ๐Ÿ“ง Billing-Related Email Communication

The design and content of invoices, payment reminders, and other billing-related emails have been updated.

Messages now use a clearer, more consistent format and include relevant information about invoice statuses and any actions customers may need to take.

Email delivery reliability and the generation of correct website links have also been improved.

## ๐Ÿ‘ค User Account Management

Administrative account management tools have been improved.

Multiple user accounts can be handled together when needed. Account deletion now better accounts for associated orders, invoices, support tickets, and other service records.

Information that needs to be retained for historical purposes can be preserved without keeping the deleted account active in the system.

## ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Stability and Data Integrity

This update also includes numerous underlying improvements to billing, orders, user accounts, and email communication.

Particular attention has been given to keeping existing order and invoice information consistent even when related details change later, while reducing unnecessary interruptions and inconsistencies between different systems.

# Pentu.org 2.2.1 โ€“ Security and Reliability Improvements

## ๐Ÿ” Account Security Improvements

Two-factor authentication now includes an option to remember a trusted device for 30 days.

When signing in, users can choose to remember their device so they do not need to enter a 2FA code every time they sign in from that device. Their password is still required as usual.

Trusted devices can be managed from the 2FA settings, and all previously remembered devices can be revoked at once when necessary.

Additional behind-the-scenes security improvements have also strengthened the two-factor authentication system.

## ๐Ÿž Bug Center

The Bug Center has been improved to make reporting more reliable and reduce misuse.

Additional submission checks help prevent automated spam and repeated bulk submissions without interfering with normal bug reports.

The handling of page URLs included in reports has also been corrected, preventing invalid or unnecessarily duplicated addresses from appearing in submissions.

A dedicated security-related reporting option has also been added to the Bug Center.

## ๐ŸŽซ Support System Reliability

Support ticket creation and message submission are now better protected against repeated bulk requests.

The system handles rapid submissions, simultaneous actions, and large numbers of open support tickets more effectively.

Ticket lists and underlying processes have also been optimized for improved stability.

## ๐Ÿ›’ Store Improvements

Improvements have been made to the shopping cart, checkout process, and purchase-request handling.

Duplicate or rapidly repeated orders are handled more safely, and additional limits help prevent a single user from overwhelming the processing queue with simultaneous requests.

Order-related communications are now more reliable. Issues that could cause shopping-cart inconsistencies when using multiple browser tabs or login sessions have also been addressed.

## ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Security and Stability

Protection against misuse, form handling, and the management of unusual situations have been strengthened across multiple Pentu.org services.

This release also includes smaller reliability improvements to background systems, sign-in functionality, and database operations.
